Every person has a distinct view of what the top 100 movies of all time are, but there are some classics we can all agree on. Almost all people just pick a movie as a “top” movie simply because everyone else says so or because it did well at the box office. Even more people select a film as one of the greatest because it has a lot of flash and buzz. To truly pick a story that is well performed and engages the viewers, one needs to be clever and independent enough to examine for themselves what truly makes a film “great”.

We usually see a couple or even more masterpiece per decade, and the sixties surely gave us some great movies when you look at all the great movies that were released during that period. Having so many movies to pick, it can be difficult to give a top five of the best movies from the sixties.

We really have seen some incredible and very good movies in the fifties, whether they were comedies, dramas, westerns or war movies as world war two was still in many people’s minds. Like in every other decade we saw some great stuff.
